Prep & Cook Time

INGREDIENTS

2 cups flour
2 Tbsp butter
3 eggs
5 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp lemon rind (grated)
3 Tbsp. Strega Liquor
powdered sugar
Oil (enough to deep fry)

PREPARATION


Heap flour in a mound on a board, make a well in the center and cut in the butter. Add eggs, lemon rind, liquor and sugar; work everything together.

Knead until dough is smooth, soft and elastic; cover with a damp cloth and set aside for 10 – 15 minutes.

Separate into three balls and roll out into thin sheets. Cut into 1 4/4 in. triangles, 1 in. x 2 in. rectangles or leaf like shapes; use a ravioli cutter.

Notes:
For liquor you may use Galliano, Anesette, Peach brandy or Marsal wine.

COOKING


Deep fry in hot oil a few at a time, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels, sprinkling with sugar right away.

Serve on a platter with powdered sugar sprinkled over top.
